Confronted with the limitations of conventional threading technologies, he envisioned a smarter, more sustainable solution. This vision became the seed of what would later revolutionize the industry.
Driven by years of research and a commitment to excellence, Philipp Silberkuhl founded Silbertool to bring his groundbreaking ideas to life. His mission: to not only redefine how threads are created but also how they are repaired and optimized – without removing any material. This foundational principle of non-destructive threading laid the groundwork for a company that now leads the field in mobile thread repair, mobile thread rolling and enhancement technologies.
What started as a single innovation quickly grew into a suite of advanced tooling solutions with applications across multiple industries. As demand increased, Silbertool expanded beyond Europe and established a strong international footprint. Today, Silbertool Solutions USA and Silbertool Solutions Australia play key roles in bringing our expertise closer to customers worldwide. At our production centers in Germany and Estonia, around 20 highly trained specialists work on designing, manufacturing, and refining the standard and custom tooling that defines our brand. I was and still am a big fan of Lego. To this day I teach my engineers to ‘think Lego’ meaning to think and design in modules that are compatible and harmonize with other parts and standards.
Cutting threads in one in one of the most respected institutions for metal forming and metal forming machines is a no go, as a metal former says: ‘anyone can cut’. There was no mobile solution for forming new threads, so I developed it.
Once we received a reclamation, where the customer used a one-meter metal bar ‘to increase’ the torque for closing the tool. The tool was of course completely bent.
