Thread performance where the part is too precise to scrap.

Medical device, laboratory, and precision manufacturing teams work with small diameters, difficult alloys, and components that already carry considerable value by the time a thread becomes a problem, whether in production or after years in service. Silbertool applies controlled cold forming, displacing material rather than removing it, where cutting is the wrong instrument for the job.

Threading comes late on a precision part, after most of the machining and inspection is already done, so a thread that fails at that stage can scrap the whole component. On equipment already in service, the same damage takes a working machine out of use until the thread is restored or replaced.

In both cases Silbertool recovers thread profile by displacing material instead of cutting more of it away. Whether that works on a given part depends on alloy, condition, and geometry, so it stays an engineering review rather than an assumption.

No chips produced

Forming displaces metal instead of cutting it, so the process generates no swarf and adds no heat. Nothing to flush, capture, or account for on a component that has to leave the bench clean.

Saves the expensive part

Newly machined or years in service, the thread is rarely the costly part of the component it sits on. Restoring the profile saves the part itself, and the instrument or machine built around it.

Standard or custom

XR-16 already restores external threads from Ø 3 to 16 mm in metric, left-hand and UN profiles. Outside the standard range, tooling and process are prepared around the specific part.
