What are cookies and similar technologies?

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies include pixels, tags, scripts, and browser storage (such as localStorage). These technologies can help a website function, remember your choices, or measure how the site is used.

Technologies we use on this website

The table below lists the cookies and similar technologies currently active on this website. We keep our use deliberately minimal: essential operation, one privacy-friendly measurement pixel, and — only if you agree — Google Analytics.

Name / technologyProviderPurposeTypeConsent requiredStorage & duration
WebTrax pixel WebTrax (Thomasnet / Thomas Industrial Network) Aggregate, anonymized measurement of site traffic — pages viewed, referring source, and approximate location derived from IP address — so we can understand overall website usage. Cookieless server-side pixel. Does not set any cookie and does not store information on your device. No — nothing is stored on or read from your device, so it runs for all visitors under our legitimate interest in understanding website performance. No device storage. Data is held server-side by the provider under its own terms.
_ga, _ga_<id> Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) Distinguish visitors and measure how the site is used (sessions, pages, engagement), so we can improve content and navigation. First-party analytics cookies. Yes. These are only ever set after you choose “Accept” on our cookie banner. If you decline, or do nothing, Google Analytics never loads. Up to 2 years (or until you delete them).
st-cookie-consent Silbertool (this website) Remembers your Accept / Decline choice so we do not ask again on every page. Essential functional entry in your browser’s localStorage. No — it exists only to honor the choice you made and stores no tracking data. Kept until you clear your browser storage or change your choice.

Essential hosting, security, and form-submission technologies provided by our hosting and form platforms may also operate as needed to deliver the website and prevent abuse. These do not track you across sites.

Consent and Google Analytics

Google Analytics is treated as non-essential and is off by default. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you want to allow analytics cookies. Google Analytics only loads if you select “Accept.” Selecting “Decline” — or ignoring the banner — means no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected. Declining does not affect your use of the site.

We use Google Consent Mode, which keeps analytics denied until you actively agree, and we honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal: if your browser sends it, we automatically decline analytics and show no banner.

Changing your choice

You can review or change your cookie choice at any time, as easily as you made it. Use the button below to reopen the cookie banner and switch between Accept and Decline.

You can also control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect how parts of the website work.

Third-party tools and future changes

Third-party providers listed above process data according to their own privacy terms. We do not currently use advertising, remarketing, or social-media tracking pixels (for example Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or Google Ads tags). If we add any material new tracking technology in the future, we will update this notice — and, where consent is required, ask for it — before that technology is activated.
