What this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Silbertool collects, uses, stores, and shares personal data when you visit our website, contact us, submit an application review request, request a quotation, or communicate with us.

It is intended for website visitors, customers, prospective customers, distributors, partners, suppliers, and other business contacts globally, including individuals in the European Union, United Kingdom, United States, Australia, and other regions.

Information we may collect

We may collect business contact, inquiry, technical, and website-use information when you use our website or submit a form. Please do not submit sensitive personal information through our forms unless it is strictly necessary.

  • Inquiry type and manual inquiry text.
  • Name, company, email address, phone number, and communication history.
  • Thread size, material, product, application, damage description, production objective, additive manufacturing part information, timeline, or other technical context you provide.
  • Quotation, order, support, distributor, or partner-related information.
  • Technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, timestamps, referring pages, pages visited, form submission metadata, and usage data where collected by hosting, CRM, analytics, security, or IT tools.

Why we use your information

We use personal data to respond to requests, evaluate technical applications, support quotations and customer service, and manage business relationships.

  • Review and respond to your inquiry.
  • Understand your thread problem, production objective, or product requirement.
  • Recommend relevant Silbertool technology, products, processes, or next steps.
  • Prepare quotations, commercial proposals, technical responses, or application reviews.
  • Route your inquiry to the relevant Silbertool regional team, distributor, dealer, technical expert, or service partner.
  • Manage leads, customers, distributors, partners, and business relationships in our CRM system.
  • Maintain website security, prevent spam, detect misuse, improve our website and services, and comply with legal or regulatory obligations.
  • Send marketing communications only where permitted by law and, where required, with your consent.

Legal bases under GDPR

Where EU or UK GDPR applies, Silbertool relies on one or more recognized legal bases. These may include pre-contractual steps or contract performance, legitimate interests, legal obligations, and consent where required.

Legitimate interests may include B2B relationship management, application review, CRM recordkeeping, website operation, security, and service improvement, where these interests are not overridden by your rights and freedoms.

Zoho CRM and business systems

Form submissions and related communications may be stored in Zoho CRM or other business systems used by Silbertool. Zoho CRM helps us manage inquiries, leads, customers, quotations, sales activities, and follow-up communication.

Silbertool’s Zoho CRM environment is hosted in the United States. Where personal data is submitted from the European Economic Area or other regions, it is therefore transferred to and stored in the United States, subject to the safeguards described under “International transfers” below. Silbertool does not make an EU-only storage commitment.

Cookies, analytics, and similar technologies

Our website uses essential technologies needed for hosting, security, form submission, fraud prevention, and basic operation.

For measurement we currently use two analytics tools. WebTrax (provided by Thomasnet / Thomas Industrial Network) is a cookieless server-side pixel that measures aggregate site traffic — such as pages viewed, referral source, and approximate location derived from IP address — without setting cookies or storing information on your device. Google Analytics 4 is used only with your consent: it stays off by default and loads only after you select “Accept” on our cookie banner, and we honor the Global Privacy Control browser signal. We do not currently use advertising, remarketing, or social-media tracking pixels.

Where non-essential cookies or tracking technologies require consent in your jurisdiction, Silbertool requests consent before using them. Full details, including a table of each technology and how to change your choice, are in our Cookie Notice.

Who we share information with

We do not sell personal data. We may share personal data only where needed for business, service, legal, or technical purposes.

  • Silbertool regional entities and team members who need the information to respond.
  • Relevant distributors, dealers, service partners, or technical partners where needed to answer or support your request.
  • CRM, hosting, form handling, email, analytics, advertising, security, and IT service providers.
  • Logistics, payment, accounting, legal, tax, insurance, or professional advisors where needed.
  • Public authorities, regulators, courts, or law enforcement where required by law.

International transfers

Because Silbertool operates internationally, your information may be accessed or processed in countries outside your own country, including the United States, European Economic Area, Australia, or other regions where Silbertool teams, partners, service providers, or systems are located.

Where required by applicable law, Silbertool uses appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections, data processing agreements, Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy mechanisms, or other legally recognized safeguards.

How long we keep information

We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Retention periods may vary depending on applicable law, region, customer relationship, record type, and business need.

  • Spam, irrelevant, or unqualified website inquiries are usually deleted or archived within 6 to 12 months.
  • Normal B2B inquiries and sales leads are usually retained for up to 3 years after the last meaningful interaction, unless a longer period is justified.
  • Customer, quotation, order, invoice, warranty, support, accounting, or legal records are retained for the period required by applicable business, legal, tax, or accounting obligations.
  • Marketing subscription records are retained until you unsubscribe, plus a minimal suppression record where needed to respect your opt-out.
  • Analytics and cookie data are retained according to the settings of the relevant analytics, advertising, or consent-management tool.

Marketing communications

We may send product updates, technical information, or business communications where permitted by law. Where consent is required, we will ask for it separately.

Submitting an inquiry form does not automatically mean you agree to receive newsletters or unrelated marketing campaigns. You can unsubscribe or opt out of marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link or by contacting [email protected].

Your rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, request portability, withdraw consent, opt out of marketing, or lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.

These rights may be subject to legal limitations, for example where we need to retain information for accounting, legal, contractual, regulatory, or legitimate business reasons. To make a privacy request, contact [email protected].

Security, children, and changes

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No website, email, or online system is completely secure, so please avoid submitting confidential or highly sensitive information unless necessary.

Our website and products are intended for business and professional users. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
